Explore Kajiado County: A Hidden Gem in Kenya

7:00 AM, we'll meet at our lodging and take a 4-hour 30-minute drive (235.7 km) in a safari-ready Toyota Land Cruiser on Mombasa Road to reach AA Lodge in Amboseli National Park by noon for lunch. 3:00 PM, we'll embark on an afternoon game drive to Observation Hill, providing stunning views of the park's plains, swamps, and its abundant wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and various waterfowl like pelicans and Egyptian geese. We'll also explore the western part of the park, where Lake Amboseli is found (usually dry outside the rainy season). Our accommodation will be at AA Lodges in Amboseli on a full-board basis.

This will be a day Full of activities at the Amboseli National Park in the southern of Kenya well known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. 06h00: Early morning breakfast and thereafter a morning game drive in the Amboseli National Park. Amboseli offers opportunities such as viewing large herds of elephants, varied wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and lions. 11h00: A visit to a Maasai village is arranged and is the home of the Maasai tribe living within the wildlife ecosystem of Amboseli national park. Here you learn about their tribal social systems, customs and the place of the Maasai tribe in today’s Africa. The residents live in their Manyatta’s, or village, much as they have for centuries and a visit gives you the opportunity to see the interior of these mud-hut homes, spotless and unadorned, contrasted with the Maasai themselves, bedecked with brilliantly colored beads and cloths. 13h00: Return to AA lodge for Lunch and short afternoon relaxation. 16h00: Check out of AA Lodges and a game drive en-route for a 2hr (90km) west to Namanga Town on the boarder of Kenya and Tanzania for a quiet evening relaxation at Baboon Camp on the slopes of Oldonyo Orok hills. Accommodation on Full board arrangement at BABOON CAMP, NAMANGA

06h00: After Breakfast, an early morning hike to “Oldonyo Orok” commonly known as Namanga hills or the black mountain in Maa language. The Oldonyo Orok hills an elevation of above 1700m and is situated in southern Kenya next to the Tanzanian border in the Namanga town. The mountain conservancy has seven peaks and several trails that are available for the nature lovers. It takes 6 hours to the peak. One of the trails commonly used has an interesting story of caves such as Enkapune e Molinga and Enkapune e Maumau which will be explained by guide en-route to their meaning. Packed Lunch en-route at convenient and flexible time. 15h00: Decent form Oldonyo Orok hills that takes an approximate of 3 hours with an outstadingn view of the plains below and the top of the forest canopy from the descent trails are sights to behold. 18h00: Arrive at Bamboo camp for a short relation before check out for a 1 hour drive north to arrive at Lerruat Log resort. Dinner and Overnight stay. 07h00: Breakfast, choose to relax on the wooden built Lerruat Log resort and experience the beautiful views or walking as it has something new you get to learn, The area features rocky outcrops, beautiful hills and valleys. Observant eyes may see monkeys and wide variety of different bird species. 15h00: Depart for an overnight stay at Patch of Heaven at foothills of Ngong hills. Patch of heaven is a holiday homes which is a short drive to Ngong town and a day walk over Ngong hills. Accommodation on Full board arrangement at PATCH OF HEAVEN, NGONG HILLS

7:00 AM, After breakfast at Patch of Heaven Holiday Homes, you will embark on a short 30-minute drive, passing through Ngong town, to begin a day-long hike across Ngong Hills.

Ngong Hills, located near Nairobi, Kenya, are a culturally significant range of seven peaks known for their stunning scenery, including lush greenery and panoramic views. These hills offer outdoor activities like hiking, birdwatching, and picnicking, making them a popular weekend destination for city dwellers. They also hold historical importance, associated with author Karen Blixen, and are home to diverse wildlife. Conservation efforts ensure their natural beauty is preserved.

After completing the hike, you will return to Patch of Heaven for some relaxation and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, drive down the Rift Valley along Magadi road to stop at the OLORGISALIE HISTORIC SITE museum where  you will experience different types of tools found in this site, fossils and how they relate to tools found in other places in the world. Then see the actual excavations and some fossils of hippos and an extinct species of elephants. 15h00; Drive to Lake Magadi where you will spend the night at Lake Magadi tented camp for dinner and Overnight Stay.

Your day will involves a visit to the folloing sites; Magadi Factory Visit: Start your day with a visit to the Magadi factory. Explore the industrial processes and learn about the production activities at the factory. Magadi is known for its soda ash production, so you may get a chance to see the soda ash extraction and processing. Interact with the factory staff and gain insights into their work. Allow sufficient time for this factory visit to fully appreciate the operations. Lake Basin Tour: After the factory visit, proceed to the Lake Basin for a scenic tour. Enjoy the natural beauty of the lake, its surroundings, and any unique features or wildlife that the area offers. Consider taking a boat ride or a guided tour to explore the lake further. Capture photographs and make memories of the picturesque landscape. In the late afternoon or early evening, enjoy the drive back, and take notice of the changing scenery as you leave the lake basin area and head towards Olepolos county club for dinner and Overnight stay.
