Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha is a part of the East African Rift System and was formed due to the movement of tectonic plates. It is surrounded by lush vegetation, including acacia woodlands, grasslands, and papyrus swamps. The lake covers an area of about 139 square kilometers, making it one of the larger Rift Valley lakes in Kenya.
Lake Naivasha’s surroundings are adorned with acacia trees, yellow fever trees, and papyrus reeds. Its diverse ecosystem supports a range of animals, including hippos, zebras, giraffes, and various antelope species. The lake’s unique combination of wetland and savannah habitats attracts both grazers and water-dependent animals.
